Introduction

The sip-sized bottle is the most recent step in Coca-Cola’s multi-year initiative to reduce plastic waste. Additionally, Coke is hoping that the size will draw younger, under-25 drinkers who are looking for environmentally friendly packaging and occasionally even avoiding the brand. The company’s most popular sodas, including Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, and Coke Zero Sugar, will be available in the new size at a suggested retail price of $1.59.

The 13.2-ounce size is smaller than the aluminum can option and slightly larger than the typical 20-ounce bottle. Strong sales may have resulted from offering unusual sizes like the 7.5-ounce mini.

In the meantime, the company’s Dasani and Smartwater brands will be available in a few locations in the upcoming months, along with 20-ounce bottles of Coke and Diet Coke in New York, California, and Texas.

Why Coca-Cola Launch a New Size of Coke

The organization was ranked No. 1 in the world last year. 1 plastic polluter by the environmental firm Free Yourself From Plastic. Its branding and logos were visible on 13,834 pieces of plastic that were dumped in public areas like parks and beaches and were found in 51 different countries.
The “World Without Waste” initiative, which Coke unveiled in 2018, aims to collect and recycle one bottle or can for every one it sells by the year 2030. The new bottle is a “big step” for Coca-Cola.

The multinational corporation Coca-Cola is not the only one trying to lessen its plastic pollution. The largest food company in the world, Nestlé, declared last year that it would invest $2 billion in initiatives of a similar nature. Recently, Pepsi introduced a redesigned 2-liter bottle that uses 24% less material.
